Janet Kelske, CPNP, ANP-C, AE-C: Nurse Practitioner
Janet earned her Master’s of Science in Child Health at SUNY Stony Brook, and a post- Master’s degree in Adult Health at Molloy College. She is board certified by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (CPNP) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (ANP-C). Janet brings over 16 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in both neonatology and pediatrics, and 15 years of experience in allergy, asthma and immunology care. She joined the Center for Asthma and Allergy in 2011 after 10+ years of dedicated services at a very busy allergy and asthma practice on Long Island. Providing education and guidance to her patients and their families is an integral part of her daily practice. Janet is a Certified Asthma Educator and a life long patient advocate.
Desirie Zorn, PNP, AE-C
Desirie received her Masters of Science degree and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Stony Brook University, and is currently completing her post masters of science in adult health. She has 20+ years experience in the nursing field with a strong background in Pediatric critical care. Desirie has been practicing in the field of allergy and immunology for the past 14 years. She has also worked as a sub investigator for various clinical trials related to asthma and allergy, where she had access to cutting edge treatments. She is a member of the AAAAI, Long Island Asthma Coalition, NAPNAP, and Sigma Theta Nursing Honor Society. Desirie is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to all of her patients.
Martin C. Schnellenbach, RPA-C
Martin, aka Marty, is a recent graduate from Touro College, where he received his Masters of Science in Physician Assistant studies and his Bachelors of Science in Health Science. Prior to attending Touro, he received his Bachelors of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Pace University. He has 1 year of clinical experience in many fields. Early on in his studies, Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology interested him, so he chose to pursue a full-time career in the field, while working per diem at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital ER. When not working, he enjoys spending his time with youth by coaching lacrosse at the Varsity level, and helping his mom run the lacrosse youth program in the Longwood community. He is very excited to join the team at the Center for Asthma & Allergy.
Ilyse Raziano, CNP
Ilyse earned her Master’s Degree of Science in Family Health after completing the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Stony Brook University in 2017. She also earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing at Stony Brook University in 2012. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ilyse previously worked as a registered nurse at Stony Brook University Hospital for over five years on a busy medicine/telemetry unit as well as a respiratory care/chronic ventilator unit. While pursuing her nurse practitioner degree, Ilyse completed a clinical rotation at the Center for Asthma and Allergy and soon discovered that she had a passion for asthma, allergy and immunology. After witnessing the life-changing work accomplished by the highly-qualified team at the Center for Asthma and Allergy, she knew she wanted to be a part of it. She is dedicated to improving her patients’ quality of life and is passionate about providing patients with the tools they need to live their best possible lives.
Catherine Arredondo, Practice Manager
Catherine brings an unparalleled dedication and a unique perspective to the Center for Asthma & Allergy and NY Food Allergy & Wellness Center with her 25+ years of experience. She is responsible for the successful management and daily operations of both offices. She enjoys working for Dr. Shah and in a field that changes people’s lives daily.
Bridget Anselmo, Billing Manager, Shirley Office Coordinator
Bridget first became associated as a team member at the Center for Asthma & Allergy after serving in primary care setting. She knows first-hand how patients are referred to a specialist, and is thrilled to be a part of this allergy speciality team.
Megan Smith, OIT Coordinator, Centereach Office Coordinator
Ashley joined the team with marketing and management experience. She currently is the coordinator of our OIT Program and the assistant manager at our Centereach office. She is great with all of the patients and her peers and is a huge asset to our Center for Asthma & Allergy team.
Maria Mastriano, LPN: Clinical Nurse
Maria has over 7 years of nursing experience. She is a committed member of our team at the Center for Asthma & Allergy as a patient advocate and a clinical nurse. When she is not here, she is working at the Stony Brook VA with all the men and women who served our country proudly.
Rhonda Bernocco, RN: Clinical Nurse
Rhonda has been a part of the dedicated professional team at the Center for Asthma & Allergy for many years. She enjoys making a difference one patient at a time. She continues to serve patients at Stony Brook University Hospital during the other days.
Jean Abazis, RN: Clinical Nurse
Jean has joined our dedicated nursing team at the Center for Asthma & Allergy. After 20 years at Stony Brook University Hospital, she enjoys making a difference to the community she calls home.
Colleen Lamb, Medical Assistant
Colleen has two degrees in Liberal Arts and Applied Science. She has ten years working in the medical field, with animals and humans. She assists the nurses and providers with our Food OIT program. Colleen loves her job working at the Center for Asthma & Allergy!
Justina Strauss, Front Desk Coordinator, Medical Assistant
Justina has become part of our team after working in this community for 10 years. She has completed the National Certification for Medical Assistant and is proud to be working in a healthcare setting, where she is able to see a difference in people’s lives after their visits here.
Matthew Avella, Front Desk Coordinator, Medical Assistant
Matt has been a member of our team now for 1 year. He started off as a front desk coordinator but quickly showed interests and talents in other fields around the office. He now is a part time medical assistant working one on one with our OIT patients. He also is in charge of making our Success Stories, individual videos for each OIT graduate. Matt is always eager to learn, lend a helping hand, and has been an awesome addition to our team.
